Delivery day

accouchementChildbirth worries many expectant mothers. If you have taken part in our preparation sessions, the midwife and all our teams will have explained the process in detail to you and this will have allowed you to express your fears. However, above all, childbirth is the announcement of great happiness and below is some information to help you experience this day peacefully.

Please do not hesitate to also view our video presenting childbirth in our Clinic.

Care in complete safety

Your safety and that of the baby are assured by a Surveillance Unit located in the midwives’ office. The midwife can monitor the labour process, even remotely.

If you would like, and in order to facilitate the labour phase, you are encouraged to walk around the unit or take a relaxing bath.

Epidural when you require it: At the Clinique Bohler, in order to provide you with optimal safety, the epidural anaesthetic is administered by an anaesthetist. You will be able to have access to this at any time, day or night.

In the event of a Caesarean: Our operating suite is equipped with a designated theatre to ensure a fast and safe procedure. The father-to-be can accompany you and therefore be present during the birth of your child. Your baby will be examined there by a paediatrician.

The first moments with your baby: The baby will initially be nursed in the delivery room. A direct bond with your child, skin to skin, will enable you to meet and discover him/her quite naturally. This contact from the first few minutes of life will remain an intense emotional experience for the entire family.

If you wish to breastfeed, you will be able to give your child an early breastfeed and our midwives are there to guide you during this unique moment.
