The spermiology laboratory

laboThe spermiology laboratory at the Clinique Bohler is located with the other laboratories at the Kirchberg Hospital Centre on the first floor of the hospital.

Spermiology involves analysing the quality and quantity of sperm. This technique may provide answers to a couple’s infertility problems. Once the diagnosis is established, your gynaecologist will propose to you the most suitable treatment based on your situation.

The Clinique Bohler, in compliance with standard ISO 15.189, guarantees that your decisions will be made in complete confidentiality and with all the professionalism which characterises our clinic. Our staff will be able to guide you and help you to make the best decisions.

Our Sperm Bank

Every one of us may one day need a Sperm Bank. The Sperm Bank at the Clinique Bohler allows each one of us to freeze a sample for personal reasons. It is a precautionary measure which you may need later on in life and which prevents you, in the event of disease or a disabling accident, for example, from having to rely on an anonymous donor.
Our Sperm Bank therefore provides a solution to our patients undergoing an irreversible vasectomy or cancer treatments which result in a reduced sperm quality.

The sperm is stored in cyrovials, kept in liquid nitrogen at -196°C. It is a cryoprotective environment which provides total security for your sample and the viability of sperm once defrosted.

Freezing, storage and transport of vials are not covered by the Caisses de Maladie luxembourgeoises and are the subject of a specific contract.
